She then moved to Indore, Madhya Pradesh for her graduation and earned her degree from Devi Ahilya University. Initially, she worked as a cabin crew member after being selected through an audition in Chandigarh, but later decided to pursue a career in modeling.
During her modeling career, she appeared in numerous television commercials and print shoots. One day, while doing a print shoot, she was spotted by the makers of the Tamil film Alex Pandian, who offered her a role in the movie. In the film, Akanksha played the character of Kaalyan’s sister.
