International Career
He was accepted into the Indian Twenty20 International (T20I) team in May 2018 for the England series. On July 6, 2018, he made his T20 debut for India. In his first game against England, he fired Jason Roy. He was also the second pitcher to make his UK tour debut, following Siddharth Kaul. He made his ODI debut for India against Afghanistan on September 25, 2018, in the 2018 Asian Cup. On November 3, 2019, he was chosen for the Indian group against Bangladesh.
Domestic Career
In his world-class cricket debut against Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy’s opening match in Jaipur. With a score of 21, Hyderabad was eliminated, the lowest total in Ranji Trophy history. Chahar quickly signed his first contract with the Rajasthan Royals thanks to his strong momentum. He participated in the Rajasthan Cricket Development Camp in October 2018 alongside international cricket coaches Ian Pont and Katherine Dalton in Jaipur. He dramatically improved his confidence and control in this setting, making him an excellent power-play expert. In January 2018 he was purchased by Chennai Super Lords at the 2018 IPL sell off.
