Aditi Rao Hydari’s journey began as a dancer when she became a member of Leela Samson’s Bharatanatyam dance group, ‘Spanda’. In 2007, she signed her first Tamil film with director Sharada Ramanathan called ‘Sringaram’. She was chosen for the role because of her uncanny resemblance to dancer Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai. In 2011, she acted in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’, which contained several intimate scenes between Aditi Rao Hydari and Arunoday Singh. Aditi’s acting was highly praised in the film.

That same year, she played a supporting role in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’. In 2012, she starred in Anu Menon’s ‘London, Paris, New York’ alongside Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar.
