SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) conducts exams for the recruitment of Officers Grade A (Assistant Manager) in various streams such as General, Legal, Information Technology, Engineering, Research, and Official Language. The SEBI Officer Grade A exam pattern and syllabus for the year 2023 are as follows:

SEBI Officer Grade A Exam Pattern 2023:

Phase I: Online Examination (Objective type)

Duration: 2 hours

Phase II: Online Examination (Objective and Descriptive)

SEBI Officer Grade A Syllabus 2023:

Phase I:

1. English Language: Vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, error spotting, sentence completion, and para jumbles.
2. Reasoning Ability: Alphanumeric series, puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, coding-decoding, inequality, blood relations, direction sense, and input-output.
3. General Awareness: Current affairs, banking and finance, static general knowledge, and economics.
4. Quantitative Aptitude: Data interpretation, number series, simplification/approximation, quadratic equations, percentage, ratio and proportion, profit and loss, average, time and work, and time, speed and distance.
5. Awareness about Securities Market: SEBI Act, 1992 and its amendments, securities market intermediaries, financial markets and instruments, bonds and debentures, mutual funds, foreign portfolio investors, primary market and secondary market, regulatory agencies and stock exchanges.

Phase II:

1. For General Stream: Corporate laws, securities laws, capital market and financial market concepts, accounting concepts, financial management, and economics.
2. For Legal Stream: Constitution of India, securities laws, corporate laws, contracts, law of torts, interpretation of statutes, and drafting and pleading.
3. For Information Technology Stream: Operating systems, programming languages, database management, network security, cyber laws, and software engineering.
4. For Engineering Stream: Engineering mathematics, computer organization and architecture, digital logic design, algorithms and programming, computer networks, operating systems, database management, and software engineering.
5. For Research Stream: Data analysis, research methodology, statistics, econometrics, financial statement analysis, and macroeconomic theory.
6. For Official Language Stream: Translation, essay writing, précis writing, letter writing, and comprehension.
